WELCOME TO ASAP CARES
Living with autism presents many challenges that most of us never
even have to consider. Imagine how you would feel if you couldn’t tell someone
that you’re not feeling well or that you don’t like what has been presented to
you for dinner. How would you feel if your bath water was too cold, and you had
no way to tell anyone except by “acting out”? The negative behaviors then
become your way to communicate. Autism Support and Programs (ASAP) offers
solutions to individuals who have CAP funding (Community Alternative Programs).ASAP SERVICES AND SUPPORTS...
ASAP provides services for people of all ages with Autism Spectrum Disorders
living in Pender, New Hanover and Brunswick Counties. Our goal is to help
these special individuals gain skills and become more independent. Autism
Support and Programs (ASAP) is accepting referrals for CAP recipients.
ASAP specializes in the treatment of complexities associated with autism
including:
- Development of communication systems
- Positive supports for behavioral interventions
- Social skills development
- Self help skills
- Increasing independence
- Supporting families by teaching key elements for success
ASAP is committed to offering choices for all participants to become involved in
the community. Allowing our participants to actively form therapeutic
relationships throughout the community is very rewarding and encourages everyone

ASAP TRULY CARES...
It is essential to give individuals a safe environment where they
can learn to communicate their wants and needs and maximize their own individual
potential. To watch someone learn to effectively communicate their needs and
desires and engage in activities that promote enviable lives, and most
importantly to see someone emerge from the holds of autism is an exciting and
most fulfilling adventure.
